About Learnerships

Since the beginning of 2010 Casinos have become more tuned in to the benefits of being a host employer for gaming specific learnerships. Not only does the learners earn a National Qualification, but the general skills base of gaming employees improve with every learnership successfully completed.

The 1 year programme is structured to enable the learners to experience a classroom and practical learning environment. Learners who successfully complete the programme will receive a Further Education and Training Certificate: Gaming. This certificate is registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on an NQF Level 3 and is accredited by the Culture Arts Tourism, Hospitality and Sports Sector Education and Training Authority (CATHSSETA). The qualification enjoys recognition throughout the Gaming Industry on our continent.

Through its partnership with HRG, SACA can now also offer learnerships in the Security field. Security personnel employed at casinos can undergo a 1 year learnership accredited with the Safety and Security SETA (SASSETA). On successful completion of this learnership, the learner will obtain a NQF Level 3 qualification, National Certificate: General Security Practices
